A work by Paco Hernández announces the Encierro de Blanca (17/07/2018)

The Encierro de Blanca already has an image.

It is a pictorial work by Paco Hernández (Cehegín, 1993) with which the Ceheginero artist intends to represent the majesty of the bull "being in itself a research on the morphology of this beautiful animal, essential, to understand the complex and indefinable artistic experiences that his figure gives us in each of his movements ".

The painting shows the image of a bull's head where Hernández wanted to transmit the strength and bravery turned into a whirlwind of brown, red, dark and luminous spots that, according to the painter, "touch the abstraction in the same way in which the bull picks up swirls of dirt when digging. "

This tide of saline fur moves from left to right along the surface of the work until it forms its head.

The gaze of the bull remains fixed on the viewer, as a reflection of its bravery, from any perspective from which it is contemplated.

The work, collected under the title of 'Toro Sardo', announces the central event of the Patron Saint Festivities that are celebrated in the municipality from August 9 to 16, in honor of San Roque, and that will take place on Saturday August 11 at 3 pm.

In this way, the council of Celebration recovers the traditional schedule of the Encierro, one of the oldest in Spain that is also declared of Regional Tourist Interest.

The author

Paco Fernández was born in the town of Cehegín, Murcia, in 1993. In 2012 he decided to pursue a university course in Fine Arts seduced by the capacity for transformation and representation of reality, for that approach to the creative act found at birth from an idyllic concept in the form of an image from nothing, or from a blank canvas if we talk about painting.

The years of academic training allow him to get in touch with various disciplines of artistic creation, guiding and building little by little his vocation to painting, supported by the pillars of continuous reflection on the premises that should guide his pictorial style and where to look Beauty in the broad spectrum of artistic figuration.

The great humanist artists of the Renaissance and the Baroque are a source that always feeds when facing a new job, considering them their inexhaustible references and masters.

In 2017 he finished the Master in Artistic Production and Management and started the Doctorate in Fine Arts.

During this year he made numerous collective exhibitions where "DeCara" stand out in the Museum of Archena, "Docile Bodies, Captive Behaviors" in Puertas de Castilla Cultural Center, and "In Tabula Pictos" in Centro Párraga.

He received the University Scholarship Course of Painters Palacio de Quintanar, and exhibited in La Alhóndiga, Segovia.

In 2018 he participated in the collective exhibition "Rhetoricas de la carne" at the Museum of Fine Arts of Murcia and completed the Master's Degree in Teacher Training.

This same year has been chosen to illustrate the poster of the enclosures of the municipality of Blanca, being a real privilege to make his small contribution to this centennial tradition in honor of his employer, San Roque.
