Bankia and Fundación CajaMurcia support the Pedro Cano Foundation in the development of museum activities (02/11/2018)

Bankia and Fundación Cajamurcia have supported the Pedro Cano Foundation with 8,000 euros for the development of their cultural activities.

In addition, they will also promote the dissemination of the work of the painter and founder of the institution that bears his name, Pedro Cano, through exhibitions in his Museum and in other cultural spaces inside and outside of Spain.

The aid, which is part of the collaboration agreement of Bankia and Fundación Cajamurcia in terms of CSR, also allows continuity to the activities that the Pedro Cano Foundation periodically schedules in its facilities, among which temporary exhibitions stand out -the painter himself of the Murcian town of Blanca and other renowned artists-, workshops, publications, etc.

The agreement has been renewed by the president of the Cajamurcia Foundation, Carlos Egea, with the artist and president of the Foundation, Pedro Cano, in a ceremony in which the director of the Murcia Metropolitan Area of ​​Bankia, Asensio Martínez, also participated.

Carlos Egea commented that "the Cajamurcia Foundation is one of the main driving forces of the Pedro Cano Foundation".

"We support the implementation of this multicultural space and, since then, we have collaborated in its eight years of operation, without forgetting our commitment to publicize the work of the painter himself", he added.

For his part, Asensio Martínez has pointed out that "Bankia's support for the work of the Murcian painter of Blanca and his Foundation is an example of the entity's commitment to the region's culture and local development".

Pedro Cano wanted to thank Bankia and Fundación Cajamurcia for their support and stressed that "despite the difficult times that culture has experienced in the last decade, the Cajamurcia Foundation, now jointly with Bankia, has always supported us, not only in terms of sponsorship, but also and especially, accompanying us in the key moments of our journey ".

Impulse to the plastic arts

The plastic arts and culture in general focus the usual programming of the Pedro Cano Foundation: workshops, conferences, screenings, concerts, drawing or painting competitions, guided visits on exceptional occasions, by the painter himself and children's activities.

Likewise, the agreement signed with Bankia and Fundación Cajamurcia helps the Foundation of the painter from La Blanca to continue with the publication of various publications such as catalogs of exhibitions and other books related to the plastic arts.
