On Friday, December 7 at 7:00 pm, the exhibition 'Blessed Blasphemy' by the artist from La Blanca, Miguel Ángel Lara Navarro, will open and will host the Centro Negra until January 7.
The schedule in which the exhibition can be visited will be from Thursday to Saturday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. 11:00 am to 1:30 pm.
The sample is included in the Exhibition Space Plan, an initiative sponsored by the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts of the Region of Murcia (ICA) in order to promote the local artists, the municipalities will facilitate the possibility of having a program cultural quality and put value the exhibition spaces available endichos municipalities.
About the work
With this project, Miguel Ángel focuses on the intervention of religious images turning them into icons of pop culture.
In the words of Ana P. Chiclano, the artistic work of Miguel Ángel Lara is defined as the maximum expression of his fetishism: the thematic religious.
His pieces, accompanied by a vibrant chromatic range, drink to a greater extent from the iconographic elements of the well-known Maduro Madrile adds the eighties, being his main inspiration Los Costus, artistic duo composed Enrique Naya and Juan José Carrero.
The term Metamorphosis would be the most appropriate to talk about his works, since he has in his hands the gift of transforming a religious cult figure into an icon of pop culture, always from a humorous point of view.
His new collection called Blessed Blasphemy, gives birth to a set of paintings which, following his religious-pop line, were conceived last spring while the artist himself was involved in a project where, leaving his comfort zone, he created an artistic installation to represent one of the stations belonging to the Christian cross. Unlike his previous works, this work is characterized by a tonality full of dark colors that give rise to a sense of intimacy typical of the episodes shown in it.
