White celebrates the festival of San Roque 2016 (01/04/2016)

The town of Blanca celebrates the pilgrimage in honor of its patron saint San Roque.

At 8 in the morning, the march began with the thunderous double ring bells and firecrackers and rockets.

The tour started in the plaza of the Church and continued along the Generalissimo streets, Concepción and Barrio Nuevo, up to the so-called "end of town" where pilgrims continued down the road from the station, until the San Roque field.

Once there, hundreds of faithful honored their patron, first Mass in his honor and then passing a branch of thyme sores Santo, according to tradition.

Of Blanca lived the great day of the Spring Festival where you eat the "mona", fried rabbit with tomato, a piece of omelet, a handful of tender beans, traditional and all washed down by a good drink of wine.

At 19 hours, the saint came to town where thousands of people waited for him to carry it in procession to the parish of San Juan Evangelista, the rhythm of Uncle Pita and La Burra that has become an anthem for those of Blanca in this day.
