Blanca replaces her art corners to celebrate International Museum Day 2017 (17/05/2017)

Works by Miró, Van Gogh, Tàpies, Antonio Saura, Miquel Barceló or Julio Ponzoa are some of the artists of recognized prestige that will be part of the program prepared by the Department of Culture to celebrate the Museum Day, from 18 to 21 of May.

Under the motto of 'Free Art', Blanca has scheduled from 18 to 21 May an authentic art festival that was presented yesterday afternoon by the director general of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts, Marta López-Briones, the Mayor of Blanca, Ester Hortelano, and the Councilor for Culture, Soledad Ríos, at the Pedro Cano Foundation.

Workshops of watercolor, collage and acrylic, round table, performance, theater, video art, music and exhibitions with works of some of the most recognized artists of the national panorama like Miró, Tàpies or Barceló, are part of the program of the Museum Day.

Coinciding with this celebration, in which the municipality will open all its art spaces, the Department of Culture has wanted the National Video Center, EDOM, to reopen its doors.

The Center will host 'Trip to nowhere' of Bernardí Roig and a collection of videos that have been developed by the residents of the Centro Negra during their stays.

Saturday will be the central day with the beginning of the workshop "Painting in the River" by Pedro Cano, for which prior registration is not necessary and participants must bring watercolors, paintbrushes, water and paper to paint according to the lessons of the White painter

The Pedro Cano Foundation will be one of the centers with more activity during this festival of art, with the exhibition of works of the International workshop of water painting and a concert of the Musical Group of White to be held on the terrace of the Museum on Friday At 20 hours.

In addition, you can visit the sample 'Collateral references to the landscape and the origin' of Luis J. Fernandez, located on the third floor of the Museum.

The Centro Negra will be another reference location during these days with the roundtable 'Models of artistic production and intersectorial strategies', which will include, among others, the curator of the IVAM, Sandra Moros (Saturday at 12).

The collective AADK Spain will present its Open Box in addition to the intervention 'Siesta sonora' by Ursula and Josman Live.

The Municipal Exhibition Hall will host exhibitions featuring Pedro Cano, Antoni Tàpies, Antonio Saura, Miquel Barceló and the collective 'Art Nostrum' featuring artists such as Álvaro Peña, Antonio Vidal, Cristóbal Pérez and Rosana Sitcha, among others.

The Council of Culture also wanted to give visibility to the local art with the inauguration of the exhibition 'Blanca, Villa de Artistas' composed by works by Luis J. Fernández, Luis Molina, Fidel Molina, Pepe Galiano, Emilio Molina, José María Molina, Noemí Yepes, Daniel Cutillas, Valentín Molina, Raúl Box, Miguel Ángel Lara, Ana Turpin, Estefanía Ramos and Annie C. A sample that will host the MUCAB, where for the first time the municipal art collection will also be exhibited with works by Pedro Cano , Miquel Barceló, Fod, Vincent Van Gogh, Sonia Navarro and Miró.

The Victoria Theater will host a tribute to José María Párraga, with the interpretation of fragments of 'A Princess in New York' by Inma Martín.

In addition, during Saturday and Sunday, the art spaces of the municipality will remain open from 12 to 14 hours and only Saturday from 5 to 10 pm.

The Day of Museums will end on Sunday with the exhibition of the works done by the schoolchildren of Blanca's schools, in the Museum of Light and Water (11 hours), where the writer, Emilio Soler will make a visit theatralized by the Museum.

At 12 o'clock, Noemí Yepes will give a children's workshop of painting and stamping with recyclable materials.
