The Ministry of Presidency and Development will carry out a comprehensive action on the road RM-553, which connects the town of Blanca with the A-30 (Cartagena-Albacete).
The General Director of Highways, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, met today with the mayor of Blanca, Esther Hortelano, to study the actions that will be done to repair and increase safety on this road.
Fernández Lladó explained that "the Ministry is working on the drafting of a firm reinforcement project across the road, which has an extension of 5.5 kilometers."
In addition, the meeting was discussed with the mayor to relocate different steps of pedestrians and highlights in the urban plot of this road, in order to better adapt to the needs of traffic and pedestrians.
These works will be included in next year's budget.
Also on this road will soon be another improvement work that consists of repairing the sinkings and blandones detected, as well as the damages caused by the rock and earth landslides of the slopes on this road, which will solve the existing unevenness that hinders Driving, especially when it comes to heavy vehicles.
The tender for works to fix the sinks will be published shortly with a budget of 132,460 euros, and the works will include the repair of the firm in the affected section, repair of slopes and renovation of the horizontal and vertical signage.
The director general said that "the two actions envisaged correspond to the commitment that the regional government acquired with the local residents, since it is a busy road that supports 1.3 million vehicles a year, of which 51,500 are Trucks. "
