The director general of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts (ICA), Marta López-Briones, met today in Blanca with the mayor, Esther Hortelano, to address the different cultural activities carried out in the municipality in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment.
The City Council has joined the Expositive Spaces Plan and the Escena Plan, initiatives through which will be held several during this year.
Likewise, the person in charge of the ICA visited cultural spaces among which the Museum and Art Center of Blanca (MUCAB) stands out, with which Culture collaborates for its maintenance and the development of activities and that is the headquarters of the Pedro Cano Foundation, of which Is part of the Community.
The MUCAB has been one of the first spaces to host, according to López-Briones, "one of the 54 exhibitions that will be held throughout this year thanks to the Plan of Exhibition Spaces launched by the regional government with the aim of Decentralize culture and expand the supply of quality activities in municipalities throughout the Region. "
The exhibition 'Art Pop' by Annie C. was seen last June and Blanca will host this year a second sample selected for the Plan of Exhibition Spaces by the young collective 'The Hand Stolen'.
It will be in October, also in the MUCAB, and the project will be called 'The signs of the hand'.
In this exhibition, which will also be seen in San Javier and Jumilla, the creators pose a new look at works of art and propose to the viewer that the photographs be 'read' through the gesture of the hands.
For its realization, this collective created in 2011 and composed of five young graduates in Fine Arts, has studied and tried to regenerate the inherited codes of painting through photography, taking as a motive hands.
Theater displays
Blanca has also joined the Regional Scene Plan and, with the collaboration of Cultura, will be represented in autumn in the Victoria Theater the children's montages' The 7 cabritillos', Company Pupaclown (October 21) and 'The adventure of Mowgli.

During 2017 a total of 57 representations of 25 companies of the Region have been programmed in some thirty municipal spaces within the Escena Plan.
