The Ministry of the Presidency and Development has begun work to improve the main access road to the urban core Blanca, from the highway A-30 (Cartagena-Albacete), to which the regional government allocates more than 109,000 euros.
The general director of Roads, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, and the mayor of the town, Esther Hortelano, supervised today the works, which have a deadline of two months.
José Antonio Fernández Lladó stressed that this work "will improve considerably the circulation on this road", which is just over 5.5 kilometers long, and indicated that the RM-533 "is a busy road, being the main access to the locality from the highway ", which supports 1.3 million journeys of vehicles per year, of which 51,500 are trucks.
The action, which will be carried out during the next two months, includes repair of the road surface in the affected section, cleaning of slopes and renewal of horizontal and vertical signs.
The general manager explained that the firm will also be strengthened to solve the existing unevenness that makes driving difficult, especially when it comes to heavy vehicles.
The general director announced to the mayor that the Community will finalize the drafting of a road reinforcement project on the entire road by the end of this year, "and will include the relocation of different pedestrian crossings and overhangs on the urban stretch of this road, so that it adapts better to the needs of traffic and pedestrians ".
