White City Council, supported by the Department of Women and various local groups, has conducted several events today to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The day began with a demonstration led by various politicians responsible for the area of women and culture.
Children in schools were the main protagonists and participated with great activity, reading a manifesto condemning male violence against women.
The Department of Women of the City of White along with various local groups have honored today to women because of gender violence were violated, discriminated against and even killed by their partners.
The events that filled the town of Vega del Segura of white ribbons, were carried out to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Councillor for Women, M ª Carmen Rios, stressed the importance of education to eradicate gender violence, and that "children are the hope of ending the violence.
Only culture and training, advocacy with schools, can contribute to a more equal future without violence ", said Rios.
"For this reason, this day is celebrated in White with the active participation of schools, representing a true symbol of the importance of their involvement and interest in combating this problem," added the mayor.
The day began with a rally in the town hall square after a rally that began on the main streets of the town, designed with the slogan "White against gender violence."
The event, attended by about five hundred people, was led by various politicians responsible for the area of women and culture, local groups representing women, children from local schools and many people who wanted to show their condemnation of male violence.
The march ended at the plaza of the Church in which four children from school and Antonio Molina La Milagrosa, read a manifesto condemning male violence.
