The Blanca Nature Interpretation Center opens its doors to the public (08/09/2020)

This weekend the presentation of the Blanca Nature Interpretation Center (CIN) was held, on Friday at an event at the Museum of Light and Water, with the intervention of the mayor of Blanca, Pedro Luís Molina , the representative of the La Carrahila association, Jesús Joaquín López and the coordinator of Caramucel, Héctor Quijada, the entity that will manage this facility from now on.

In addition, on Saturday an interpretive itinerary was carried out around the Azud de Ojós.The CIN's activity will be divided into the following blocks:Visitor information service, which will be attended at the facilities of the Museum of Light and Water, in the building of the old Light Factory, on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 10 a.m.

to 2 p.m., where the staff The center will be in charge of the reception and care of said people, providing all the information about the places of natural and cultural interest in the territory and will inform about the activities that are offered from the center.The content of the electric generator room will be updated to know the Central de Blanca and the rest of the hydroelectric plants of the Ricote Valley.

In the hall, it is used for the exhibition that makes known the natural spaces and the hydraulic heritage of Blanca and its region.Route service, where visitors can hire interpretive itineraries on foot through natural spaces in the municipality of Blanca and the Ricote Valley.

There will also be a program of organized activities that will operate from the second half of September, in areas such as the Sierra de la Pila Regional Park, the Red Natura 2000 area of ??the Sierras de Ricote and La Navela, the Segura river and the vegetable plot.One of the most important pillars of the Environmental Education Program, aimed at educational centers.

Its implementation will depend on how a face-to-face return to the classroom in September can be faced in the face of an unprecedented health and social crisis.

The CIN offers spaces, experiences and activities in the natural environment in a healthy, safe and controlled way, transmitting important ecosocial values ??at the same time.The outreach activities, consisting of the programming of seminars, talks and conferences, will be coordinated by the cultural association "La Carrahila".

On the one hand, informative content will be given to the Fábrica de la Luz through information panels in various formats.

On the other hand, an annual conference cycle entitled "Nights at the Factory of Light" will be launched, to be held in autumn and winter.

This cycle will be inaugurated by the aforementioned María Dolores Piñera Ayala, who will give a conference on this light factory and its relationship with the rest of the hydroelectric plants in the Ricote Valley region.All the information and activities developed by the CIN can be consulted on its website cinblanca.wordpress.com and on social networks.

The facilities already have protocols for action against COVID-19 and guidelines to guarantee the safety of people and the protection of the environment.
