The Museum and White Artists' Centre (Mucab) by Martin Lejarraga XVI has won the Regional Award for Architecture, biannual event organized by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning in collaboration with the Architects Association and the Foundation Cajamurcia.

Also, the Labor Professional Award went to the group of technicians working on a voluntary and disinterested in the tasks of assessment and reconstruction following the earthquakes in Lorca on 11 May.

This award, given to proposal from the College of Architects of the Region of Murcia, highlights the outstanding work for personal or professional architecture.

In this edition of the awards have been a total of 88 works, of which 63 are for building, nine urban projects and 16 design, in 25 municipalities in the region.

The Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Sevilla, noted that "the quality and innovative nature of the works has been a new challenge to the jury for the awards."

Antonio Sevilla said the awards "are intended to promote the architectural debate, reflection, innovation and progress of architecture in the region and thus contribute to spreading cultural values ​​of society as a whole."
