Black Center present at the Sorbonne in Paris and the Urban Poetry Festival Riga hand AADK (03/06/2014)

The 'Comala White' filmmaker Fran Ruvira project will be presented at the Paris-Sorbonne University next Thursday, June 5.

An initiative that developed a few months ago when she was selected to participate in residencies that AADK (Aktuelle Architektur der Kultur) platform organizes Berlin in Black Center.

Besides Paris, Blanca will be present this weekend in the city of Riga in the festival 'Urban Poetry / Free Riga' where the project will be presented 'From local to global' that shows the work performed by the Center AADK Negra.

The filmmaker Fran Ruvira, Comala Blanca present their work at the University Paris-Sorbonne (Université Paris-Sorbonne) on Thursday 5 June at 17.30.

This is your next short film in which the director goes into Murcia looking for the ruins of Comala, a small village that shares its name with the Mexican people that used to Juan Rulfo's novel Pedro Páramo.

A coincidence that serves to introduce the character of Pedro Páramo in oral and daily account of the towns in the region and pose a set halfway between legend and local history, including literature, cinema and life, between voices of the present and the echoes of the past.

From the standpoint of film and literary dialogue, Ruvira expose the circumstances of production and plot a route on the collective imagination of Comala and the myth of the eternal return.

The meeting will take place in the Hispanic Institute, CRIMIC is organized by the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Contemporary Iberian Studies at the Sorbonne, under the project Mérimée.

Its aim is to work with historians, literature and visual arts on contemporary Spanish studies.

Comala Blanca was conceived a few months ago when he was selected to participate in residencies that AADK (Aktuelle Architektur der Kultur) platform organizes in Berlin "Black center" of the town of Blanca (Murcia).

The project "From local to global 'that the collective is developing in Spain AADK Blanca (Black Center) will be presented at the Urban Festival Poetry / Free Riga next weekend.

The artists invited to the festival are Casaponsa Miquel, Abraham Hurtado and Atis Jakobsons audiovisual Anders Bigum, Cristina Busto, Alejandro Ceron Goikoetxea Paul Gaston Gabriel, Selu Herraiz, Daniel Hernandez, Victoria Macarte, Pablo Peña, Fran and Rosa Ruvira Tharrats.

The presence of AADK with Black Center has been possible thanks to the support of the Embassy of Spain in Latvia / International Cooperation.
