Conservation of the environment, cost containment, more infrastructure for education, culture and security are some of the main items planned.
"Control of expenditure, debt control and execution of investments, these are the objectives of the budget of the City of White for the year 2010" as the mayor said last night Blanca, Rafael Laorden in the last plenary session held in the town of Valle del Segura.
Laorden added that "White should continue to grow responsibly, respecting the environment and supporting the culture."
The municipal budget for this year is 16,557,212 euros.
Rafael Laorden insisted "on the Municipal Government's commitment to social programs begun years ago.
Proof of this is the allocation of budget almost three times the departure of Social Affairs, more than one million two hundred thousand euros. "
That figure will maintain the various projects that the City takes place in this area, the Day Center and the Residence Virgen de los Dolores, family plans, equality and immigration, among others.
The most important chapter which includes the budget for investments, representing more than nine million euros, 56% of municipal accounts.
The council of finance, Esther Horton, said that these figures represent a strong commitment to culture, education and environmental conservation.
With them, "the council is engaging with figures to grow responsibly," Horton hue.
To this end, it is anticipated spending more than half a million euros for the installation of photovoltaic cells that generate clean energy (570,000 euros), has begun construction of a Sewage Treatment Station (STP) that allows the use water for irrigation worth more than a million euros, will install a manifold at White Station for better treatment of wastewater from the area (200,000 euros).
In addition to improvements in the generation of clean energy and water treatment, the session aims to increase efficiency and reduce consumption of public lighting, for which installed streetlights with LED technology, which involves an investment of 339,000 euros.
Finally, the municipality of Vega del Segura have a fleet of bicycles, which was installed in the busiest areas of town to promote alternative means of transport and environment friendly (113,000 euros).
Many of these investments will also reduce future spending on energy.
Laorden also highlighted the intention to "improve education by providing it with more and better infrastructure."
The session devoted a significant departure for the creation and improvement of schools.
In this sense, the investment of more than one million euros in expanding secondary school from White and the creation of an Early Childhood Center for children between zero and three years at The Station.
Among the major investments include those aimed at beautifying the town and the promotion of cultural tourism.
To do this, follow Route project investments of art that will be enhanced with the purchase of new areas for "conservation, restoration and rehabilitation, in order to further beautify the area," said Rafael Laorden.
In this sense, the session will acquire several lots and houses located in different parts of the town and an old chapel to be restored.
The Paper Museum will begin construction this year on a project that foresees the implementation of 2,200,000 euros until 2012.
This chapter of beautification and cultural facilities will also include the construction of a footbridge over the River Segura (500,000 euros) and 140,000 euros for the rehabilitation of housing.
The City Council also wants to improve security and communication in the municipality.
To this end, construct new facilities for local police and courts, which will provide better service to citizens.
This project is 743,000 euro budget.
Communication improvements will be made in upgrading the MU-553 road, which will cost 374,000 euros.
White closed its 2009 budget surplus.
